Hoy en día las grandes corporaciones, gobiernos y agencias estatales disponen de ingente cantidad de datos. De ahí el nombre que recibe su tratamiento y análisis, el denominado “Big Data” en Ingles, proceso de recolección de grandes cantidades de datos para analizarlos de manera inmediata con el fin de encontrar patrones, información útil o correlaciones. Sin embargo, las empresas se ahogan ante tanta información, en la mayoría de los casos, inabarcable. Para dar solución a esta problemática, surge el Small Data.

Para hablar de todo ello hemos entrevistado en mi programa Hemisferios de Decisión Radio a Javier Marín: Ingeniero Químico por la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Master en Inteligencia Artificial por la UNIR y grado en el MIT en Machine Learning e Inteligencia Artificial. Ha desarrollado su experiencia en diversas multinacionales, pasado por puestos de Marketing, Dirección General, y finalmente con dedicación exclusiva al área de Inteligencia Artificial y analítica de datos. Actualmente es “Chief Data Scientist” en NextBrain, empresa líder en lo que se denomina “small data”

Its treatment and analysis is what we call Big Data, process of collection of big quantity of data to analyse it and find patterns, useful information or correlations. Nevertheless, companies use to sink in so much information, in many cases, too difficult to manage. To provide solutions to this problem, Small Data process is today available
