Vivimos en momentos de convulsión de los mercados energéticos. Esto nos está afectando seriamente como consumidores, no solo de forma directa en el precio que pagamos por la electricidad, gas, gasolina y gas oíl, sino también porque es un factor determinante en el nivel de inflación tan alto, que está forzando una subida del precio del dinero, así como mucha volatilidad y bajas en los mercados financieros.

Lo cierto es que, si bien la guerra en Ucrania y la inestabilidad política tienen mucho que ver, no solo se debe a ello. Esta situación se ha producido por factores que en algunos casos vienen ya de antes. Como consecuencia se han producido una serie de cambios regulatorios en el sector que conviene tener en cuenta, ya que impactan tanto en la evolución futura de precios como en la seguridad de suministro y en la propia transición energética.

Para analizar las claves de esta situación hemos entrevistado a Federico de la Hoz. Federico lleva casi cuatro décadas en el sector energético, habiendo ocupado puestos directivos en una de las empresas eléctricas referentes en el sector. En los últimos cinco años colabora como “Senior Advisor” de empresas renovables e innovación energética con actividad internacional asesorándoles en temas regulatorios y estratégicos y representándoles en las asociaciones del sector.

We live a very challenging moment of the energy market. This is affecting severely us, as consumers, not only directly in the prices of electricity, gas, diesel, or gasoline, but also because the high rate of inflation induced, which is also increasing the interest rates. At the end high volatility and stock market in minimums.

The truth is that, besides the war in Ukraine and the political instability, these are not the sole causes. This situation has been produced also because other additional factors that, in some cases, come from the time before. As consequence there has been regulatory changes in the energy segment that we should take into account, because their impact not only in the future evolution of prices but also to secure the supply and in the energy transition process itself

To asses all the key factors of this situation we have interview with Federico de la Hoz. He has been involved more than four decades in the energy segment, mainly in top management post in one of the main Spanish utilities. In the last five years he has been collaboration as Senior Advisor of renewable and energy innovation companies at international level, advising them in regulatory and strategical matters and representing them at segment associations.
